Oumou Aidara is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and athlete based in Berlin. Spanning across photography, writing, performance, and community practice, their work explores the liberatory possibilities of movement, care, and storytelling.
Their evolving practice bridges themes of mental health, diasporic identity, sport, and healing, rooted in a decolonial and body-conscious approach. Through image, text, and somatic workshops, Oumou seeks to carve space for Black, queer, neurodivergent ways of being in the world.
Current projects:
— The Intersectional Athlete, a hybrid book blending essays, interviews, and creative nonfiction on bodies, sport, and identity
