Oumou Aidara (*1996, Dakar) is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist, writer, and athlete from Senegal.
Their interdisciplinary practice moves across photography, installation, performance, text, and research-based publishing.
Aidara works through embodiment as method. Drawing from diasporic memory, athletic training, and sociological analysis, they examine how language, movement, and belonging circulate within systems of power.
Their thinking is shaped by endurance: repetition, pacing, breath, and terrain becoming tools for reading institutions, communities, and cultural economies.
Their projects, including Sport Is For Everyone, Sovereign Rage and RAGAL MA, investigate emotional translation and the conditions under which people are asked to move, adapt, or make themselves legible. Aidara builds situations where bodies think aloud, reorganize space, and refuse erasure.
Their practice centers Black, queer, diasporic, and neurodivergent ways of knowing. Aidara treats lived experience as analytic force. Embodiment operates as infrastructure: movement becomes language, endurance becomes method, and research unfolds as ritual.
